Finally someone has put something in writing and has labelled it as "research shows" - something I figured out a while ago.

And the research is that it is not beneficial to read something in the Bible (or anything else for that matter) while someone is reading it aloud. You should not read and hear at the same time.

So all those times when I sit in church, not wanting to take the Bible out to follow the reader and people have given me a skeef look, I say to them: "research shows"
